Ingredients
Sugar Syrup
For Mawa
For Dough
Servings: gulab jamun
Instructions
Sugar Syrup
  1. Take a deep pan. Add sugar and water in it.
  2. Add cardamom, saffron and drops of lemon juice. Mix it.
  3. Boil it till the sugar gets dissolved.
  4. Turn off the gas.
For Mawa
  1. Take a bowl and add milk powder, ghee and milk to it. Mix well.
  2. Transfer it to a pan and cook on low heat. Stir continuously.
  3. Cook till it leaves the oil and comes together like a dough.
  4. Turn off the gas and let it cool.
For Dough
  1. Transfer the Mawa into a bowl. Add Maida/all purpose flour and baking powder to it.
  2. Add 2 Tablespoon milk to it. Mix everything well. Use your hands to knead it well. (Make it very smooth, add some more milk if you need)
  3. Now take a small part of dough and rub it between your palms to make it smooth. Now roll it and form a smooth ball.
  4. Make all the balls at once.
For Gulab Jamun
  1. Heat oil/ghee in a deep pan. (Low heat all the time)
  2. Drop the balls into it and cook till becomes brown. Keep flipping. (Low heat all the time)
  3. Take out when done and drop it into the hot sugar syrup.
  4. Cover the lid and let it rest for 10 minutes. (The gulab jamun will soak the sugar syrup)
  5. Serve hot!
