Ingredients
Sugar Syrup (1 CUP = 250 ML)
Halwa
Servings: pieces
Instructions
  1. Add water (as required for this syrup) and sugar in a pan. Boil till sugar is dissolved.
  2. In a bowl mix cornflour and water (as required for this mixture). Immediately add it to the sugar syrup.
  3. Stir it continuously. (Low-Medium heat)
  4. Once it becomes thick, start adding ghee in small portions to it. Mix well. Let it absorb the ghee.
  5. Again add ghee and mix well. Repeat the process until you use all the ghee required for the recipe.
  6. Now add orange food colour, lime juice and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat, stir continuously.
  7. Add chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews and pistachios) to it and mix.
  8. Turn off the gas and transfer it to a square shaped container. Smoothen it using a spatula. Let it set for 1 hour or so. (do not keep it inside the refrigerator)
  9. After 1 hour take it out of the container and cut it into small square shape.
  10. BON APPETITE!

  1. I made this Halwa today, and it turned out good. Thanks for the recipe In the video, you added lime juice but in the written instructions you didn’t mention about adding lime juice. I didn’t add though. Why should we add lime juice?

    • Hey Suja, thanks a lot. I must have forgotten to write it, thanks for reminding. Lime juice is added to prevent crystallisation of sugar. Glad u liked it 🙂
