Take lukewarm water in a bowl.
Add active dry yeast and sugar to it and mix it.
Add one egg and mix it well using a fork.
Now add the flour and mix.
Add 1 tsp salt and some water, mix and knead to prepare a soft dough.
Add room temperature butter to it, mix and combine it.
Add some flour and knead the dough for at least 10 minutes.
Tuck the dough to make it smooth from the top, transfer to a greased bowl and cover it with a cling wrap. Leave it until doubles in size.
When done, take out the cling wrap and punch the dough to release the air. Knead it a little.
Now divide the dough into 12 equal parts. Roll each part into ball shape. It should be smooth on the top.
Place all 12 rolled smooth balls in a baking tray lined with a baking sheet. Place them a little distance apart.
Cover it with a cling wrap and leave it for 1 hour or until doubles in size.
Now beat an egg using a fork and apply this egg wash on the balls very gently.
Place it in the preheated oven at 175°C/350°F for 15-20 minutes or until done.
Take them out and let it cool. Dinner rolls are ready.
