tomato rice

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (jeera)
  • 1 tsp Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Garlic finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chilli finely chopped
  • 10 Curry Leaves
  • 1/3 tsp Turmeric Powder(Haldi)
  • 1/3 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder(Dhana)
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 3 small Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Rice cooked
  • 1 tsp Lime/Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds/jeera to it. Let it crackle.
  • Add finely chopped ginger and garlic to it. Fry until golden brown.
  • Now add chopped green chillies and curry leaves (kadi patta) to it. Mix well.
  • Put the heat on low flame and add turmeric/haldi, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala to it. Mix well.
  • Add finely chopped tomatoes to it. Mix.
  • Put the heat on high flame and add salt to it. Mix and cook until tomatoes becomes like puree.
  • Now add cooked rice to it. Mix well.
  • Add lime juice and mix. Serve hot!
