for batter

  • 6 white breads
  • 1 cup rava/semolina
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 tsp salt
  • water
  • 1 tsp soda

for chutney

  • 1/2 cup fresh coconut
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • 1 green chilli
  • small piece gnger
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • handful coriander
  • 4 tbsp curd


  • Take six white breads and cut off the sides
  • add it to a blender and make bread crumbs
  • now take a bowl add crumbs, rava/semolina, curd and salt to it
  • Mix it well
  • add some water and mix it well again
  • cover it for an hour
  • now take another blender and add fresh coconut, roasted peanuts, green chilli, ginger, salt, curd and coriander leaves
  • add some water if required and blend it
  • now take the batter give it a mix
  • add some soda and water and mix it well to idli batter consistency
  • transfer it to the greased idli tray
  • place it in a steamer
  • steam on high for 8 minutes.
  • your instant bread idli is ready.
