Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 cup flour/maida
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp red food colour
  • 400 gram cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 1/4 cup powddered sugar
  • 300 gram whipping cream chilled

Instructions

  • To prepare red velvet cake first, add flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl and sieve it.
  • now in another bowl add butter and sugar, beat it until it becomes smooth
  • add eggs and beat it well
  • add oil, vanilla essence, warm milk and vinegar mixed in milk
  • mix and beat it well
  • add red food colour and mix it well
  • now add the prepared flour mixture in batches and mix it well
  • beat it for 2-3 minutes
  • add it to the baking tray and tap it to remove air bubbles
  • now bake it at 180°C for 40-45 minutes
  • take it out and let it cool
  • cut and remove the top portion keepn iot for preparing crumbs later
  • divide the cake into 2 layers
  • in a bowl add cream cheese, and beat it till it becomes smooth
  • add butter, vanilla essence and powdered sugar and beat it well
  • in another bowl add whipping cream and beat until stiff peaks formed
  • add the cheese mixture into it
  • fold it gently
  • add it on the to the cake and cover it
  • place one more layer and cover all the sides with cream or icing
  • make it smooth and add cake crumbs
  • decorate it with icing
  • red velvet cake is ready
