Ingredients
- 3 cup Rice
- 1 cup Urad Dal/Lentil white split
- 2 tablespoon Methi Seeds (Fenugreek Seeds)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Oil
Servings: Dosa
Instructions
- Take 3 cups rice, 1 cup urad dal and 2 tablespoon methi seeds in a container and wash it 3 times in water.
- Add enough water to soak it for 4 hours.
- Strain the soaked dal after 4 hours. (Do not throw the water, use it for grinding)
- Now grind the dal using a mixer(small portions at a time), into a really smooth paste.(Add water, if required)
- Transfer the paste to a container and add some water (if required), to make it smooth.
- Now add 1 teaspoon salt and mix it.
- Cover it and let it rest for 8-10 hours. (it depends on weather, so it may take more than 10 hours)
- After 10 hours, check whether the batter is ready or not, there should be a foamy layer on the top and when you smell it, it smells like its fermented.
- Now, heat a Pan and rub some oil using a slice of onion. (High heat)
- Sprinkle some water on the Pan to cool it down.
- Now spread a scoopful of batter on the pan immediately. (and reduce the heat to medium-low)
- And cover it for a minute.
- Remove the cover and take out the dosa from sides and serve hot with Sambhar and chutney.
- BON APPETITE!
