Sewai upma

Ingredients

  • 3 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp urad-chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp methi seeds
  • 1 green chilli
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1/3 cup peanuts
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup carrots
  • 1/2 cup beans
  • 1/2 cup potato
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup vermicelli roasted
  • 1 tsp lime juice

Instructions

  • To prepare vermicelli upma first add oil, urad-channa dal, mustard seeds, methi seeds, in a pan
  • fry it for a minute
  • add green chilli and curry leaves and fry it for a minute
  • now add peanuts and fry for 2 minutes
  • add onion and cook until it becomes translucent on medium heat
  • now add carrots, green beans and potatoes and mix it well
  • add salt, mix it and cover and cook until it becomes soft
  • add water, salt and black pepper and mix it well
  • let it boil and now add vermicelli and mix it
  • add lime juice and mix it well
  • add a teaspoon of oil and keep stirring till it dries
  • sewai upma is ready
