Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery chopped
  • 1/2 cup beans chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrot chopped
  • 1/2 cup mushroom chopped
  • 1 cup cabbage shredded
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sugar

  • spring onions

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a wok and add ginger and garlic to it.
  • Now add celery to the wok and fry it for a minute.
  • Add beans and carrot to the wok and cook it on medium heat until the vegetables become soft.
  • Now add mushroom and cabbage to the wok. Cook it on medium heat until the veggies become soft.
  • Add salt, black pepper, soy sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar and mix everything well.
  • Pour 3 cups water or stock into the wok and mix it well.
  • Take corn flour and mix it with 2 tbsp water to make a slurry.  
  • Pour the slurry into the wok and mix it well so that no lumps are formed.
  • Boil the soup for 4 minutes while stirring in between.
  • Add sugar, a handful of spring onion greens and mix it well.
  • Now turn the heat off and pour the soup into bowls.
  • Garnish with spring onions and your hot n sour soup is ready. Serve hot and enjoy!
