Atta cheela recipe –

Atta cheela recipe or atta dosa is a type of cheela. You can prepare this atta cheela using whole wheat flour and vegetables. Generally dosas are originated from southern part of India but atta cheela or chilla is also a Gujarathi cuisine. I generally use finely chopped vegetables, wheat flour and curd to prepare this soft and delicious atta dosa or atta cheela. Today I am sharing my delicious atta cheela recipe along with step-by-step instructions with photos.

This atta cheela recipe is very easy to prepare and perfect for healthy breakfast or as a starter. Wheat cheela is very healthy and also a good food for infants or elderly in home as it is very easy to chew. If you are bored of traditional dosas you must definitely try this wheat or atta cheela recipe as it tastes very different and delicious .

This atta uttapam is ideal for breakfast which I prefer or you can also enjoy it as appetiser  or snack. Main ingredients used to prepare this wheat dosa or wheat cheela recipe are wheat flour/atta, curd, and vegetables of your choice.you can use beetroot for healthier version of this dosa.

Shelf life of Atta cheela –

  1. The prepared batter for atta cheela can be used within two days if kept in refrigerator
  2. prepared atta dosa or cheela must be consumed same day.

Atta cheela

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • water
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/2 capsicum
  • 1 small carrot
  • 1/4 cup green beans
  • 1 small onion
  • handfull coriander
  • oil

Instructions

  • Take a bowl and add wheat flour, salt, turmeric and curd and mix well
  • add a little amount of water and mix it well
  • again add more water and make a smooth batter
  • Now add ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, capsicum, carrot, green beans, onion and handful of coriander and mix it well
  • Take some amount of prepared batter and spread it on hot tawa
  • add oil and cook for a minute on medium heat
  • flip it and cook on the other side
  • now apply oil on both sides, press and cook it until it is cooked
  • your atta cheela is ready
