Ingredients

For frying

  • 6 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 200 g paneer

For matar paneer

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 onions medium sized
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 cup tomatoes chopped
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp kasuri methi
  • 1 cup green peas
  • ½ + ½ cup water

For Garnish

  • Handful coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

For frying

  • Heat 6tbsp. Oil in a Kadai and add paneer cubes to it.
  • Fry the paneer till golden brown while flipping it so that all sides are cooked evenly.

Making matar paneer

  • In the same oil add cumin seeds, chopped onions, and fry until translucent.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, chopped tomatoes and mix everything well.
  • Add salt and let it cook until soft and dry.
  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, kasuri methi and mix it well.
  • Add green peas, ½ cup water and cook for 4minutes on medium heat.
  • Add the fried paneer and  ½ cup water to the kadai and mix it well.
  • Cook for 2 more minutes on medium heat and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

  2. Add the paneer and 1/2 cup more water then mix it well.
  3. Cook for 2 more minutes on medium heat and finally garnish the dish with chopped coriander leaves.
